VEG – DONNE BIRYANI MASALA – 3 STEPS – READY TO EAT
Ingredients:
• 250 gm Zeera rice
• 250 gms (1 ½ cups) mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, beans, potatoes, etc.) and 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
• 2 tbsp oil or ghee
• 40 gms Donne Biryani spice mix (Organic)
• 2 cups water
• Fresh cilantro (coriander) for garnishing
Instructions:
1. Rinse and Soak Rice: Rinse the zeera rice thoroughly in water and soak for 20 minutes. Drain the water before using.
2. Prepare the Vegetables: Chop your vegetables into small pieces. You can use a mix of carrots, peas, beans, potatoes, and any other veggies you like.
3. Cook the Rice: In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the soaked rice, a pinch of salt, and cook until the rice is 70-80% cooked (it should still be firm). Drain the rice and set it aside.
4. Sauté the Spices: In a large pan, heat the oil or ghee. Add the sliced onions and cook them until they turn golden brown. Then, add the chopped vegetables and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are slightly tender.
5. Add Instant Donne Biryani Spice Mix: Stir in the instant biryani spice mix. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spices.
6. Layer the Rice: Now, layer the partially cooked rice over the vegetables. Do not stir. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid or seal it with dough to trap the steam.
7. Cook on Low Heat: Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. This step is key to getting that aromatic biryani texture and flavor.
8. Garnish: Once done, Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot. (can be served for 4 people)
Serving:
Serve the vegetable biryani hot with a side of yogurt, raita, or a simple salad.
